I wanted to quickly share with you what Mr Riverside and I achieved on our first ‘Stir Up Sunday’ which I hope will become an annual feature in our home.
The recipes were James Martin’s from October’s Good Food magazine, as this was our first Stir Up Sunday we stuck to the recipe but next time I think we will do our own versions.
Cranberry Jewelled Mincemeat – Post Christmas Update – amazing, this was made extra juicy by the cranberries
We made the mincemeat at the top, and these shiny jewels are what went into our Christmas cake, which we are feeding liberally with Rum.

Update: The make and mature Christmas cake is being slowly fed with rum and is looking amazing!
Update: this Christmas cake did us really proud and went down a treat with everyone, especially with some stilton – don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
